[attr="class","ajbdbs0"] [attr="class","ajbdbs"] [attr="class","ajbdsfl"]► Belle French [break] [attr="class","ajbdbst"]GENERAL [attr="class","ajbdbsb"] Belle doesn't know her name at this point. She has no idea who she is, where she comes from; all she knows is she was recently let out of the insane asylum without any sort of help to get her life started. [break] [attr="class","ajbdbst"]PERSONALITY [attr="class","ajbdbsb"] Belle is a strong young woman who will stick by her beliefs and morality no matter the cost. While she knows there is evil in the world, Belle is quite the optimist believing the world isn't all white and black, that the evil always have some sort of light in them. She believes in the very best in those she meets, which sometimes can cause one to think she is naïve. Quite honestly she can be naïve, but she rather be naïve than closed minded. She's very much a forgiving person, and will do her best to understand one's motives and sympathize with those she meets, even if she might try to stop someone who is trying to harm others. Despite the fact her father many times treated her as a 'weak and submissive' woman, she has grown to take action, willing to give her life for what she believes in. [break][break] Belle is a very curious woman, wanting to have knowledge, seeking a way out of situations with her mind and hopefully not having to resort to hurting another, because even if they're trying to kill her, she'd rather not harm another. Belle loves books and stories, escaping into a new world with new rules, wanting to be a hero like those she has read about, which is why she'll seize a chance to be a hero and save those around her. Stories are important to her, because they detail how a world could be, how any person can act, and how even someone who seems insignificant can change the world... how someone who appears to be evil and heartless can truly have a heart behind it all. [break][break] While she attempts to see the best in others, there are times when emotions cloud her mind, especially if she feels like someone betrayed her. She is allowed to feel hurt, right? However, in those moments she might act rashly, such as the time she went to regain her memories of her mother's death, reaching for the stone and then reaching and helping Anna a bit too late. She regrets these moments, and she works to try to be the best she can be. She tries not to be selfish, but as with most others... she's only human. [break] [attr="class","ajbdbst"]HISTORY [attr="class","ajbdbsb"] Belle was born a princess of the kingdom of Avonlea, daughter to King Maurice and Queen Colette. As a young child, she fell in love with story called 'Her Handsome Hero', and modeled her view of a hero after the hero in the story, Gideon. Forgiveness and compassion, and thus, she strives to embody those traits. Her childhood was a wonderful and caring one, as both of her parents loved her very much, and while her father liked to hold onto the 'image' of a woman he had in his head, her mother taught her to continue to be a strong woman. She always had an adventurous soul, always wanting to explore the world, to live the stories she had read, to become a hero herself, but as princess, she couldn't leave her people, and her father was fairly protective of her, and so she was unable to leave Avonlea. [break][break] Belle grew up, as do many children, but she had not found a proper suitor, as all those who came she didn't feel a connection. Sometimes she felt the suitor just wanted to become the king, as whomever she married would inherit her kingdom. However, the ogres were starting to close in and they needed help. Her father arranged a meeting between her and a man who would be able to help supplement their resources in the hope of fighting back the ogres. At first she was vehemently against the suitor, as Gaston was a notorious womanizer. However, after meeting him, he seemed to be perfectly nice, and honestly Belle enjoyed his company. True colors were something she didn't realize she didn't see in Gaston at the time as they found a child ogre trapped and hurt in a pit. While she insisted they try to help the ogre, Gaston wanted to get information out of it. Convincing him to give her the benefit of a doubt, they went to the library where they discovered the existence of a mirror that would show if one had evil in their heart. This would show without doubt if the child ogre wanted to harm them. [break][break] While she went and got the mirror, Gaston was tasked to watch over the ogre. However, it escaped and Gaston seemed to be injured when Belle returned. The hunt began for the child ogre, but Belle wasn't going to give up. A true hero wouldn't, after all. She followed them, and stood between the hunting party which included Gaston, and tried to convince them to let the child live. The mirror was broken when she used it to protect the ogre from Gaston attempting to kill it, and found that the mirror reflected Gaston as the one who had evil in his heart, not the child ogre, who was injured from torture that Gaston must have done to it while she was gone. [break][break] Regardless, Belle agreed to marry Gaston, only because she felt it was her duty to protect this kingdom, and without him, they would be doomed according to her father. The ogres still made their way to the castle, and together with her mother they were attempting to escape, but Belle was knocked out, and woke up to news that her mother had been killed and she barely survived. Not wanting to believe this, she began researching a way to bring back memories so she could remember how her mother had died, and snuck out of the castle, travelling to a land called Arendelle where it was said rock trolls could restore memories that were once lost. She met Anna, who apparently was about to marry into the family of rock trolls, and was led to the trolls and received a rock that could restore her memories. However, Anna had been followed by some lady, and the two were put in a difficult situation. Belle tried to reach her rock, before deciding too late to help Anna not fall from the cliff. The rock was gone, and Anna was injured or worse because of her. [break][break] However it was there, from Anna herself, where she learned about the Dark One, a magical being that could help her kingdom, and so she went home and told her father they should ask him for help. Even with Gaston's help they were going to fail fighting off the ogres and so after some convincing they summoned him, Rumplestiltskin, the Dark One. He was willing to help... provided they pay a price... Belle would have to go with him forever. While her father and Gaston both protested, she didn't care. This was her chance to be a hero and so she made the deal, the two men unable to convince her otherwise. [break][break] At first she was locked up in a dungeon, and of course she cried because she missed her family. She wasn't going to go back on her deal, but she couldn't help but feel sad she would never see her father ever again. Scared out of her skin, worried the notorious Dark One would torture or kill her, she accidentally dropped a cup when he made a 'quip'. Luckily it wasn't broken, simply chipped, but to her surprise, he didn't seem to mind. As time passed on, she and Rumple had grown somewhat closer. While at first she was scared of him, she began to stand up to him from time to time, such as when Robin Hood tried to steal from him and she freed him while Rumple was away, eventually convincing the Dark One to not kill the man who only stole to try to save his pregnant wife. [break][break] Rumple let her go. Surprising her immensely believing she would not return. She didn't plan to, but after she met a black haired lady on the road who told her about 'true love's kiss', she decided to return to the Dark One, hoping to free him from his curse. When she kissed him, she could tell it was working and voiced this, leading to Rumple freaking out and reversing the effect the kiss had. She was locked up for days, before he came by and banished her from the castle, telling her to leave. Believing he was a coward, knowing that the love was true because of how the curse had actually started to fade, she left him with a few heated words. [break][break] She began to travel the world, not yet wanting to return home, eventually hearing of a beast that was terrorizing nearby villages while she worked at a dwarf tavern. There she joined the hunting group, reading a book that told her where she might find the beast. She led the men who made fun of her and abandoned her on the side of the road astray and hunted the beast on her own, where she met Mulan and eventually learned how to free the beast who had once been a man. She decided from this adventure she would go back to Rumple, to try to free him of his curse as well even if it would be a hard road: one couldn't just give up on true love. However, she was then captured by the same black haired lady, who turned out to be the Evil Queen and locked up in a tower as 'leverage' over her love. [break][break] There she stayed until the curse hit. [break][break] After the curse, Belle found herself in an insane asylum, no memories of who she was, but quite recently she was released being deemed 'not a danger', even if she still did not remember anything. And now she's just trying to find a way to survive out in this town on her own, without a dime to her name, or even a name to call herself.
